When The Crickets Hesitate
This collection grew out of my graduation project and continued to unfold from there. It hovers in the pause before something shifts. The stillness just before dusk, the breath held between anticipation and uncertainty. The works carry a subtle tension—playful, slightly uncanny—suggesting that the world is listening for a sound that refuses to arrive. It’s an in-between place where intuition takes over, where forms lean into silence and allow the story to unfold on its own terms.Occasionally, the dialogue between a work and its pedestal becomes so precise, so inevitable, that they fuse into a single presence. The pedestal is no longer a support but an integral part of the sculpture itself.Inspired by a haiku from Leonard Cohen, “When the Crickets Hesitate.”
